Problem

Why?

Today, over 830 million people are living with diabetes globally, and that’s a rising number! In Qatar, according to Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health, diabetes affects 17% of the population—double the global rate—and costs are projected to rise from 1.8 billion QR in 2015 to 8.4 billion QR by 2055, highlighting an urgent need for better prevention and care.

Diabetes requires constant management: counting carbs, taking insulin or medication with every meal, and monitoring glucose levels daily to maintain stability.

Research shows that most view self-management as burdensome, often skipped not as a sign of apathy or ignorance, but because life itself can be overwhelming. Even those who managed well described it as hard work.

That’s what drove us to start DiaHefz—to ease this burden. DiaHefz exists to simplify daily management while empowering users to stay engaged. We pair science-backed tools with rewarding, human-centered design so care feels achievable—not overwhelming.
